AMICA-training

AMICA is a developing remote parent-coaching and video-reflection approach for professionals supporting families with young autistic children.

The approach uses a direct live video link, discreet audio guidance and reflective video work to support parents in everyday moments of play, communication and interaction with their child. The practitioner remains present as a supportive background resource, while the parent remains fully engaged and in charge of the interaction.

AMICA is grounded in a neuroaffirmative, developmental and relational understanding of autism. It supports practitioners to help parents notice and appreciate their child’s initiatives, while also strengthening parents’ own confidence, playfulness and self-efficacy in everyday play situations.

The future AMICA training pathway is being developed for suitably qualified professionals who already work with young autistic children, parents or families. At this stage, the training is not yet offered as a formal accreditation route. However, I welcome conversations with professionals, services and organisations interested in future AMICA training opportunities.
